PCDHFC wants all members to have a great time shooting safely. We also need to comply with insurance directives for safe firearms handling.
Courses available to PCDHFC members:

  • Range User Certified Course (RUC)
  • Extreme Pistol (IPSC) Training Course

icon Range User Certified Courses in 2010
RUC is the Range User Certified Course, a privilege offered to existing PCDHFC members who have met the training criteria outlined for this course. RUC members are permitted self-supervised access to the lower ranges (3,4,5,6) on PCDHFC property, during normal business hours.
These members are referred to as "Range User Certified" or RUC Members.
All RUC cards will be recorded and issued by the Club office.

RUC Prerequisites:

Before you are eligible to take the Range User Course:

1. You must have passed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course or Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course in preparation for a PAL.

2. You must have a PCDHFC Membership.

3. You must shoot at Range 7 under supervised conditions at least five times (demonstrated by collecting signatures from the Range Officer(s) on your Interim Membership Card or equivalent).

Furthermore, we recommend that you are comfortable with the following activities:

1. Clearing any malfunction.
2. Maintaining an active firing range.
3. Controlling other shooters.

The Executive Committee (EC) of the PCDHFC will have final authority in approving members as "RUC".

icon Registration & Costs
Range User Courses are generally held Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings for approximately 2.5 hours.

Cost for the Range User Course is $50 per person, payable with application. To register and pay for any scheduled weekday or weekend course, drop in at the range office and pickup the Range User Course study material Thursday to Monday, from 10:00am until 4:00pm.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED**Maximum 10 students per class**
- Registration and payment for the RUC course can be taken at the Range Office during business hours: Thursday- Monday 10:00am-4:00pm

Walk-in registrations are NOT accepted.
