Range 7 Renovations: Warm and Bright for the Winter
At last year's Pumpkin Shoot I happened to look up at the ceiling of R#7. What a horrible assault on the eyes. Wires hanging down, ugly rafters staring at you, YIKES! The Exec Committee (EC) approved expenditures to improve R#7 and the kitchen. You saw the kitchen improvement pictures last January and that was a good first step.

This summer I was talking to a new member about our desire to improve R#7. Roger Felgner has a company that does this type of work professionally. Roger put in an estimate which I ran by our Lands and Buildings Director and 2nd VP Bruce McIntyre, and Bruce approved the costing and project. Roger and I made plans to have it done over the fall and within a 3 week period, PRESTO CHANGE-O!

When I say that Roger and I made plans, here is how that works: I find someone who is REALLY good at what they do and then find money to hire them to do that work. I do NOTHING else and believe me, those who have seen me do anything with my hands but eat or shoot will confirm that is the right thing to do.

RANGE 7 AND WARDEN'S OFFICE BEFORE (Pumpkin Shoot 2005):

AND NOW...
First the lights were moved to a better position and the wiring cleaned up. Then the soffits were put in.

And as if that were not enough, the Chief Range Officer's cramped, cold dirty office was transformed into a bigger, warmer better version with more space for the stuff you need to buy from the club such as targets, clothing, neck lanyards, etc.

What is next? Watch the lawn next to the Caretaker Residence for changes soon. Your club is always moving ahead. You might even find it is fun to be more involved. There is ALWAYS work to be done at the club. Let us know if you want to step up for some productive fun.
